PARTS MITSUBISHI LANCER

The first Mitsubishi Lancer (A70) was launched in February 1973. It served to close the gap between the Minica boulder car and the larger Galant. The sporty 1600 GSR model began the Lancer's long and successful rally history, winning the Safari Rally and Southern Cross Rally twice.

 

With the second model, on the market until 1983, the Lancer gained popularity in the Netherlands. The reason for this was the appearance, especially adapted to the European market, characterised by an angularly shaped bodywork. An icon is the Mitsubishi Lancer 2000 Turbo. Also with this car several successes were achieved in international rally competitions.

For two years, Mitsubishi has also conducted the Mitsubishi Lancer F (Fiore) That was actually a Colt with an ass. Given the model, this was not really a success. It was therefore silently removed from the lists of submissions.

The third generation Lancer (until 1988) was also available for the first time as a five-door station wagon. A 1800 diesel engine was also new in the delivery program. These cars were also popular and the diesel was a widely used engine, which was very reliable.

 

Strangely enough, Mitsubishi exchanged the station wagon for a five-door hatchback with the fourth generation Lancer (until 1991). Mitsubishi produced the Lancer Station Wagon from the third generation until 1992, when it was succeeded by a fifth generation station wagon. The fourth generation Lancer was extremely good, even with this model dealers suddenly had empty workshops.

With the fifth generation Lancer (until 1996) Mitsubishi came with a station wagon. This car was also the model for the first Mitsubishi Lancer Evo. This was the ultrasporting rally car with a 280 hp four-cylinder turbo engine and permanent four-wheel drive.

With the sixth generation Lancer (until 2003) Mitsubishi kept to the four-door sedan and the five-door estate, but the diesel engine disappeared from the programme in Europe. With this model many rally successes (various world championships) were achieved.

 

This division remained the same for the seventh generation Lancer (until 2007). The car was a little dusty. The youthful accent was gone. The sedan of this model was not sold in large numbers, unlike the Lancer Wagon, which in turn was popular among young families.

The eighth generation Mitsubishi Lancer has been available since 2008. Mitsubishi sold these with a 1.8-litre petrol engine or a 2.0-litre diesel engine. A new 1.8 Common Rail Turbo Diesel engine became available in 2009.

Until recently, Mitsubishi only supplied the compact mid-sized car as a Lancer 1.6 ClearTec Edition. Thanks to a start/stop system, among other things, this engine was extra efficient, resulting in an average consumption of 5.7l/100 km. The standard equipment of this model was spacious with stability control, rear parking sensors, a rain sensor, an electrically adjustable driver's seat and a whole battery of airbags.

In Europe, in addition to the Final Editon of the Evolution X, a final edition of the regular Lancer also appeared. In other continents the ninth generation Lancer is sold.
